Sustainable Development Goals 17
Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development
Manav Sadhan Vikas Sanstha (MSVS) has pioneered the concept of Community Development, called Parivartan Kendra (PK), as a central hub for developmental activities in clusters of villages. This concept is designed to ensure comprehensive and sustainable development for local communities.
Each Parivartan Kendra serves as a replicable model with a well-defined organizational structure to implement and coordinate programs aimed at promoting holistic development at the grassroots level.
The Parivartan Kendra Approach
The Parivartan Kendra model revolves around a network of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working together towards a common goal: the all-round development of the Konkan region. MSVS serves as the coordinating body at the district level, overseeing 10 Block-level Coordinating Committees (BCCs). These BCCs are comprised of reputable NGOs with a proven track record and a shared vision of community development. Each BCC supervises 10 to 12 Parivartan Kendras within its area of operation.
Target Groups and Development Strategies
Parivartan Kendras focus on six target groups within the population to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development, PKs follow key principles, including:
These principles guide the development strategies implemented by PKs, fostering security of
Farmers
Women
Youth
Fishermen
Ex-Servicemen
Backward Classes
A Collaborative Network
MSVS's network structure allows NGOs or CBOs to capitalize on each other's strengths, working synergistically to drive holistic development. Each Parivartan Kendra serves as a hub for a cluster of 10 to 12 villages, providing a range of services and support to meet local needs. Despite operating independently, PKs are part of a monolithic network, offering synergy, strength, and organizational support.
Activities and Services Offered by Parivartan Kendra
The Parivartan Kendra model encompasses a variety of developmental focuses, including economic, physical, cultural, socio-spiritual, intellectual, and environmental development. A typical PK provides a range of services and facilities, such as:

Environmental Conservation in the Western Ghats
At Manav Sadhan Vikas Sanstha (MSVS), we believe that by protecting and nurturing the environment, we are making a crucial investment in the well-being of future generations. Our environment doesn't just sustain us—it inspires us and provides the essential resources we need for survival.
MSVS is dedicated to playing its part in this global effort by focusing on one of the world's biodiversity hotspots-the Western Ghats of India, specifically the Konkan region. This area is rich in unique flora and fauna, but it is also vulnerable to environmental threats.
Our projects and initiatives are designed to protect the natural beauty of the Western Ghats, promote sustainable practices, and engage the local community in environmental conservation.
We believe that by working together, we can create a greener, more sustainable future for all.
Join us in our mission to serve and protect Mother Nature.
